Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a former Director of Communications for Dr Bawumia’s 2024 campaign, has strongly condemned remarks made by some members of the camp of former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, against Dr Bawumia, who is also eyeing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership slot.

Speaking on Okay FM on Monday, June 9, 2025, Aboagye expressed his disgust over some of the comments, particularly remarks made by Kennedy Agyapong, stating that the approach taken by these individuals does not promote unity but rather fosters divisiveness.

He also denied claims made by Kwasi Kwarteng, spokesperson for Kennedy Agyapong, that the recently concluded “Thank You Tour”, led by the party’s leadership and Dr Bawumia, was a disguised campaign to promote their preferred candidate to voters.

“It is not in the nature of our party to wash our dirty linens in public or engage in politics of insults. It is not true that the Thank You Tour we just concluded was a campaign. All the national executives of the party participated in the tour, so, how can one say that it was a campaign?”, he said on Okay FM.

Miracles Aboagye went on to warn members of Kennedy Agyapong’s camp that their remarks could ultimately affect their political chances in the primaries, cautioning them not to play the victim if things don’t go their way.

He added that the party’s delegates are discerning enough to vote not based on tribal politics but on the character and competency of those vying for the flagbearer position.

“If you go around making such claims and people vote against you, don’t turn around to play victim because the NPP delegates know their party very well. They won’t just vote based on some disparaging and insulting remarks but based on character and who can lead the party.

“Dr Bawumia has never been heard talking badly about someone just to win votes, so why would they do that? This is the same approach they took that caused them to lose the 2023 NPP primaries,” he stated.
