Ghanaian rapper, Amerado Burner, has expressed his disappointment at not being nominated for the Artiste of the Year category at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Awards.
Speaking on Hitz FM on Monday, the rapper said he was surprised by the omission, especially after putting in what he described as consistent hard work during the year under review.
“I was a bit disappointed not being nominated for the Artiste of the Year category,” he said. “I worked very hard throughout the year and expected to see my name on that list.”
Amerado was, however, nominated in three other categories: Best Hiplife/HipHop Artiste, Best Highlife Song, and Best Reggae/Dancehall Song. Unfortunately, he did not win in any of those categories.
In addition to missing out on the top award, Amerado was also absent from the main award ceremony. He explained that he missed the event because he forgot the date.
“I was out for a project and forgot the date of the event. I woke up the next morning and got to know King Promise won the Artiste of the Year,” he stated.
Despite the setback, Amerado highlighted the importance of industry recognition. “Having an award is very essential as an artiste. An award builds up your CV and gives you joy,” he said.
