Dambai (O/R) June 3, GNA-A total of 1,792 candidates will take the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), a crucial milestone in their academic journey in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti region.
According to the Municipal Examination Coordinator, Mr. Michael Asun, the candidates are drawn from 70 Junior High Schools (JHS), comprising 57 public schools and 13 private schools.
The candidates include 824 females and 968 males.
Mr. Asun made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), highlighting the preparations underway for the examination.
He said there would be six examination centres across Krachi East Municipality to facilitate the writing of the BECE.
He said the move was to ease the burden on both teachers and students, who would otherwise have to travel to Dambai, the capital of Krachi East to sit for the exams.
Mr Asun said the arrangement is expected to ensure a smooth conduct of the exams.
He said the multiple exam centres would allow the candidates to sit for the exams closer to their locations, reducing logistical challenges and promoting a conducive examination environment
