Popular Ghanaian blogger and social media personality Ameyaw Debrah has been hospitalised after experiencing a sudden bout of illness that has left him with fever and intense body aches.
In a reflective Facebook post shared from his hospital bed, Ameyaw Debrah recounted how quickly his condition worsened —from taking cheerful selfies at the airport and joking about foreign currency to being rushed to the hospital within hours.
He described the first 36 hours of admission as “rough—like riding a feverish rollercoaster in slow motion.” However, he also acknowledged the experience as a much-needed wake-up call to slow down and rest.
The media influencer’s post has since received an outpouring of support and well wishes from fans and colleagues across social media.
“Life has a wild sense of humor. One moment, I’m all smiles, snapping selfies at the airport. The next, I’m cracking jokes about foreign notes from a minister. And then—bam!—I’m burning up, every bone aching, and being rushed to the hospital.
The first 36 hours of being admitted have been rough—like riding a feverish rollercoaster in slow motion. But oddly enough, the silver lining has been the chance to unplug, shut off my phone, and finally surrender to real rest and recovery.
Sometimes, the body knows what the soul’s been trying to say: slow down.” He wrote passionately on Facebook, advising his followers to also find time to rest before the body forces them to rest.
From the time of this piece, Ameyaw Debrah’s condition is stable and currently recieving infusions.
