The New Life of the Wife of the Late John Evans Atta Mills

Ernestina Naadu Mills, the wife of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, has embraced a quiet and private life since her husband’s passing in July 2012. As Ghana’s First Lady from 2009 to 2012 and a respected educationist, she was known for her calm presence and deep commitment to education and family values.

Since the tragic death of President Mills while in office, Naadu Mills has withdrawn from political and public life. She has focused instead on personal reflection, faith, and supporting causes related to education and youth development—especially the empowerment of young girls, an area she has always been passionate about.
