Management of Maaha Beach Resort has confirmed that the fire which broke out on its premises on Tuesday, May 28, 2025, originated from a nearby resort before spreading to their facility due to close proximity.
The incident, which occurred around 8:00 PM, affected one of the resort’s 25 structures. However, the resort has assured the public that its overall operations remain fully active.
In a statement signed by General Manager Sylvia Osei-Mensah, management clarified: “Despite the swift spread of the fire, only one block adjacent to the perimeter wall was affected.”
“We are grateful to report that there were no casualties or injuries, and all guests and staff were evacuated safely and efficiently,” the statement added.
The resort also condemned false reports circulating on social media and in some media outlets, describing them as misleading and a source of unnecessary fear and panic.
With about 180 rooms still available, Maaha Beach Resort said operations are continuing without interruption and praised emergency responders and local community members for their swift intervention and support.
“This is a challenging time for us, but we remain strong and committed to rebuilding. The safety and well-being of our guests, staff, and community remain our utmost priority,” it added.
The resort also encouraged continued patronage and reminded customers of a promotional offer with reduced rates running until the end of June 2025.

We wish to officially address the unfortunate fire incident that occurred on May 28, 2025, at
approximately 8:00 PM, which resulted in the one out of 25 structures being razed down.
This has become necessary following false publications and distortions by some bloggers on
social media and other media outlets about the fire incident causing fear and panic among the
public.
The fire originated from a nearby resort and rapidly spread due to the close proximity of our
premises. Despite swift intervention by emergency services and our internal safety team, our
block next to the wall was affected by the flames. However, with about 180 rooms available
currently, operations remain unaffected.
We are grateful to report that there were no casualties or injuries, and all guests and staff
were evacuated safely and efficiently. We extend our deepest appreciation to the emergency
responders and community members who assisted in containing the fire and ensuring the
safety of everyone involved.
While this is a challenging time for us, we remain strong and focused on rebuilding, and
remain committed to serving our guests safely as possible. The safety and well-being of our
guests, staff, and community remain our utmost priority.
Management wishes to place on record that Maaha Beach Resort is in business and appeals to
its customers to continue to patronize their services.
Management also reminds clients and the general public to take advantage of our on-going
reduced rate promo which will expire at the end of June 2025.
