The Yendi Circuit court in the Northern region has sentenced Iddrisu Alhassan, a 24-year-old man, to 10 years in prison with hard labour for defilement.
The pronouncement was made by His Highness Ebenezer Kweku Ansa on Friday, May 30.
Iddrisu Alhassan, on the 26th of December 2024, at Kulkanya, lured the victim, Barkisu Yakubu, aged 14, to his house and defiled her, leaving her to bleed.
According to him, he sprayed some substance on Barkisu, making her unconscious so he could have access to the young girl.
The case was reported to the Yendi police after the victim was found in his room, leading to his imprisonment
