The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection has inaugurated a state-of-the-art childcare centre aimed at easing the burden on working parents, particularly mothers, within the ministry.

Designed to cater to children between the ages of 0 and 3 years, the facility offers a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment to ensure that children receive quality care while their parents focus on their professional responsibilities.

Speaking at the launch, Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, highlighted the critical need for supportive workplace policies that empower mothers and promote work-life balance.

She underscored the ministry’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for women to thrive in their careers without compromising on childcare.

“This initiative is not just about convenience—it is about prioritising the welfare of our staff and their children.

It reaffirms our commitment to inclusive development and social protection,” Dr. Lartey said.

The launch ceremony attracted a broad range of stakeholders, including officials from the Australian High Commission, development partners, civil society organisations, and members of the media.

The childcare centre is expected to enhance productivity and promote the mental well-being of working parents by reducing stress and increasing job satisfaction.
