Receiving the delegation on behalf of the President, Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah praised Prof Akabzaa as a distinguished statesman who made significant contributions to Ghana’s energy and mining sectors. He assured the family of the state’s full support in honouring his legacy.
Minister for Energy, John Jinapor, reflected emotionally on Prof. Akabzaa’s dedication, describing him as a father figure rather than just a mentor. He recalled how, even in his final days, the late professor continued to provide critical guidance on energy sector challenges.
The family announced that a pre-burial wake and mass would be held in Accra on December 10th and 11th, 2025, before the body is transported to his hometown, Dua in the Bongo District, for final funeral rites and interment.
Expressing gratitude, the Akabzaa family acknowledged the President and the Presidency for their unwavering support in honoring the memory of the esteemed public servant.
