The acting Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has assured workers of Zoomlion Ghana Limited of an imminent pay increase.

This update was shared in a viral post on social media on Friday May 23, 2025.

“God forbid that I pay you GH¢250 again”, he stated.

Malik Basintale has criticised the longstanding remuneration arrangement and pledged to overhaul it.

He pointed out that the contract signed under the previous administration has remained unchanged for over seven years and nine months during which workers continued to receive GH¢250 as monthly salary.

He described the existing contract as unfair and exploitative, hence vowing not to renew it.

“I promise on my honour, as I stand by the grave of my late dad, not to renew the contract in its current state or form It is EVIL for the previous government to have committed to this and I SHALL STOP IT,” he recently wrote on his X page.
