Adenta Kumi’s wife reportedly suffered a miscarriage during a raid at his home
Nana Ama Owusu, mother of Alfred Ababio Kumi, popularly known as Adenta Kumi and a former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant for the Adentan constituency, has alleged that her daughter-in-law suffered a miscarriage following a dramatic dawn raid by state security operatives.
Recounting the incident in an interview with Metro TV, she said the arrest was carried out by eight armed men believed to be operatives of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
“NIB officials stormed the residence. He (Kumi) told them he was taking a bath, but they broke the door. There were eight men wielding guns. They said they wanted to ask him some questions,” she narrated.
She added, “They did not fire their weapons, but they used them to hit the door while trying to break it down. He told them not to enter, but in the process, his wife fell, leading to a miscarriage.”
The wife was later taken to a hospital in Adenta for medical attention.
Adenta Kumi was arrested at his residence by the armed men believed to be NIB operatives.
