Two Nigerian superstars set to miss Ghana game as Super Eagles announce squad for Unity Cup tournament

The Super Eagles of Nigerian have unveiled the official squad list for the upcoming Unity Cup, with a strong blend of international stars and homegrown talents set to represent the nation.

The Super Eagles’ two marksmen, Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman missed out on the 27-man squad, announced on Tuesday, for the four-nation tournament.

The duo will not be available for the game scheduled to take place in London.

The goalkeepers include Stanley Nwabali, Maduka Okoye, and Amas Obasogie.

In defense, the squad boasts a solid mix of established and emerging players, including Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Igoh Ogbu, and Junior Nduka. Felix Agu is also listed as available for training, further boosting options at the back.

The midfield engine room will be anchored by Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka, who are joined by Christantus Uche, Collins Ugwueze, and rising talent Saviour Isaac.

The attack will be spearheaded by a formidable frontline featuring Samuel Chukwueze, Kelechi Iheanacho, Moses Simon, and Cyriel Dessers .

They’ll be supported by a hungry supporting cast including Nathan Tella, Tolu Arokodare, Sikiru Alimi, and Abubakar Adamu.

The Unity Cup clash between Nigeria and Ghana on May 28, 2025, is expected to reignite the fierce rivalry between the two nations while promoting unity and sportsmanship. 

They face each other in the semifinal of the four-nation tournament with the winner set to play Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago.
