Former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, is expected to appear before the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on Monday, June 2, 2025, in connection with an ongoing investigation into multiple financial dealings during his tenure.
The OSP had previously declared Ofori-Atta a fugitive, citing his absence from the country despite being summoned for questioning.
His name was temporarily removed from the wanted list after he assured authorities of his willingness to return voluntarily.
The OSP’s investigation involves five high-profile financial cases, including contracts related to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), and payments linked to the National Cathedral project.
Responding to a tweet on X that sought clarity on the latest update regarding Ofori-Atta, and as sighted by GhanaWeb Business, the OSP stated that the former finance minister is expected to appear on June 2, 2025.
“Ken Ofori-Atta is expected to report at the headquarters of OSP on 2 June 2025. Thank you,” the office replied.
Ken Ofori-Atta, who served from 2017 to early 2024, has come under scrutiny for his role in Ghana’s economic management, including matters related to public debt, bond issuance, and emergency COVID-19 expenditures.
