Ahead of the 2016 general elections, the NPP’s National Executive Committee suspended Mr. Crabbe alongside then-General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong and then-Chairman Paul Afoko for actions deemed harmful to the party’s presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo.
Now seeking to contest the NPP National Chairmanship position in 2026, Mr. Crabbe emphasized that the suspension did not stop him from playing his part in the party’s development.
“I am still a member of the NPP. I really pushed the car during the 2024 elections by drafting strategies for Krowor and Obom-Domeabra constituencies,” he revealed.
He added that he voted in the party’s super delegates congress and insisted that voicing concerns about party matters should not lead to one being branded anti-party.
“It doesn’t matter what I feel or who I support, but sometimes you need to get on board for the work to be done, then we can later discuss issues. Even now, I’m still not happy about many things that were done to me — they destroyed my businesses and more — but that’s behind me,” he stated.
