Ghana’s Digital Identity In Focus At ID4Africa 2025

Andrew Asamoah and Moses Baiden

Founder and CEO of Margins ID Group, Moses Baiden, will spotlight the revolutionary impact of the Ghana Card on healthcare delivery at the 2025 ID4Africa Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Mr. Baiden, a digital identity champion, in a preview of his presentation, described the Ghana Card not merely as a form of identification, but as a revolutionary enabler of national development—particularly in the health sector.

“The Ghana Card is not just a piece of identification—it’s a game-changer for healthcare delivery,” said Mr. Baiden. “This is about putting identity at the centre of development, ensuring every citizen has access to essential services with dignity and efficiency.”

Mr. Baiden’s keynote address will delve into how the Ghana Card has been integrated into the national healthcare infrastructure, streamlining patient verification, eliminating fraud, and enhancing service delivery through real-time data interoperability.

A Platform for pan-African identity innovation

The ID4Africa AGM is the continent’s leading identity event, drawing more than 2,000 stakeholders from over 100 countries, including representatives from 50+ African governments.

It serves as a melting pot for technology innovators, policymakers, civil society actors, and development agencies, all committed to building trusted digital identity ecosystems.

Themed “Digital Identity at Scale: Building Trust, Maximizing Impact,” the gathering aims to accelerate Africa’s digital transformation by promoting citizen-centric solutions that enhance governance, security, and service delivery.

Mr. Baiden’s address will also reflect on how robust ID systems can support inclusive policies and sustainable development, particularly in the critical sectors of health, financial services, and mobility.

The Executive Director for Software Development and Systems Integration at Margins ID Group, Andrew Asamoah, will also participate in a panel discussion on scaling digital transformation projects into ecosystems.

Margins ID Group, under Mr. Baiden’s leadership, has been instrumental in the design, production, and rollout of the Ghana Card and its ecosystem.

His appearance at ID4Africa reinforces the country’s growing influence in the global conversation on digital identity as a development tool.

Growing continental interest in legal identity systems

Across Africa, governments and development partners are increasingly recognising the value of trusted digital ID systems for unlocking socio-economic benefits.

Health, financial services, and mobility remain key sectors driving demand for secure, interoperable identity frameworks.

The ID4Africa AGM will showcase successful implementations, foster policy dialogue, and offer unmatched networking opportunities.

With a swelling interest in health-focused identity use cases, Ghana’s example—anchored by the Ghana Card—is expected to resonate powerfully.
