Manso Nkwanta (Ash), May 17, GNA – Prince Manu Moris has been overwhelmingly confirmed as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie West in the Ashanti Region, receiving 100 per cent approval from assembly members.
All 39 assembly Members voted to confirm the President’s nominee during a confirmation exercise supervised by the Electoral Commission at Manso Nkwanta.
The exercise took place under tight security, with personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Fire Service, and Ghana Immigration Service deployed to ensure a peaceful and orderly event.
The heightened security presence was a precaution following protests from some youth groups who had expressed dissatisfaction with the President’s nomination of Moris.
Despite initial resistance, the confirmation process proceeded smoothly without any disturbances.
officials maintained a strong presence throughout the event to safeguard the proceedings.
Mr. Morris in his acceptance speech, expressed deep gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the nomination and thanked the assembly members for their unanimous support.
He pledged to focus on key development areas including infrastructure, education, and youth empowerment.
“I am deeply humbled by the confidence reposed in me, and I assure the good people of Amansie West that I will work tirelessly to bring positive change and development to our communities,” he stated.
Mr. Emmanuel Reagan Fynn, Ashanti Regional Director of the National Service Scheme, who represented the Ashanti Regional Minister, congratulated the new DCE and urged all Assembly Members to work collaboratively to drive development.
He stressed that unity and teamwork would be essential in achieving the district’s development goals.
