By Yussif Ibrahim

Obuasi (Ash), May 16, GNA – The Assembly Hall of the Obuasi East Municipal Assembly erupted in celebration as Assembly Members unanimously confirmed Mr Adzowu Kofi William as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

In a decisive vote supervised by the Electoral Commission, Mr Adzowu secured all 28 votes cast, representing a 100 per cent endorsement by the Assembly.

Prior to his confirmation, the Assembly had also endorsed Mr Alfred Fosu Donkor as the Presiding Member, following the withdrawal of his only contender, Mr Jibrine Jalil, after an earlier unsuccessful attempt to fill the position.

Mr Edwin Nii Lante Vandapuye, the National Coordinator for District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), urged members of the Assembly to set aside their differences and unite behind the newly confirmed MCE and Presiding Member, to ensure development and progress within the Municipality.

He pledged to work tirelessly to improve the living conditions of residents, with a focus on key development priorities including rehabilitation of inner roads within the Municipality, completion of the Municipal Assembly’s administration block, relocation of the Timber Market to Boete Senet, and construction of an alternative road to ease traffic congestion

He called on all stakeholders such as traditional leaders, Assembly Members, civil society organisations, and residents-to support his vision of inclusive and sustainable development for Obuasi East.
