The Nigeria U20 team have won the AFCON seven times
South Africa face Nigeria in the semi-finals of the U20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), which is being held in Egypt, on May 15, 2025, at the Ismailia Stadium.
Nigeria’s flair and attacking prowess will be tested against South Africa’s tactical organization and resilience.
Both teams possess a wealth of talent, with rising stars eager to make their mark on the African stage.
Nigeria began its campaign with a 1-0 win over Tunisia, followed by a 0-0 draw with Morocco and a 2-2 draw with Kenya.
The Flying Eagles then beat Senegal 3-1 on penalties after a goalless draw in the quarterfinals.
Nigeria, who have won the U-20 AFCON title seven times, look to book another final appearance and edge closer to lifting their eighth continental crown as they battle South Africa.
