2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) Artiste of the Year winner, King Promise, has responded to a congratulatory message from fellow musician Stonebwoy following his major win on May 11, 2025.

Stonebwoy, who was widely considered a top contender for the coveted Artiste of the Year title, lost the award to King Promise.

In an aftermath post shared on X on May 12, Stonebwoy congratulated the “Paris” hitmaker, welcoming him to what he described as that “the league of winners.”

However, in an interview with Hitz FM on May 13, King Promise downplayed the message and indicated that he prefers not to make a big deal out of it.

“I have been told about his congratulatory message. I don’t think it’s a big deal. I’ve responded to a few, but I haven’t been on X today. They were telling me about it, and I told them to cool down, it’s not a big deal,” he said.

“I’ve received the congrats, but I don’t want to talk about it. I don’t think it’s anything worth speaking about.”

The Artiste of the Year race at this year’s TGMAs was hotly contested, with the spotlight mainly on Stonebwoy, King Promise, King Paluta, and Kweku Smoke.

Many industry insiders and fans predicted a tight race between Stonebwoy and King Promise, with both enjoying massive success in the year under review.
