ECOBANK & ASKY founder honoured at 2025 Millennium Excellence Awards

Chairman Gervais Koffi Djondo, the founder of ECOBANK & ASKY, has been honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Africa Achievement Prize – Global Banking and Aviation Excellence In Africa 2025, by the Millennium Excellence Foundation. 

The 2025 Millennium Excellence Awards, held under the distinguished patronage of the Asantehene, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, took place at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

The event brought together prominent business leaders and various esteemed dignitaries to honour individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities and beyond.

Chairman Djondo was recognised for his exceptional contributions to the advancement of Africa and his unwavering commitment to sustainable development across the continent.

In his acceptance speech, Chairman Djondo expressed profound gratitude for the recognition, stating: “This award is not just a personal honour; it is a testament to the collective efforts of all those who have worked tirelessly to uplift ECOBANK & ASKY and foster sustainable development in Africa. Together, we can continue to build a brighter future for our continent.”

Chairman DJONDO emphasised the importance of collaboration and innovation in addressing the challenges faced by Africa today. He called upon leaders, entrepreneurs, and youth to unite in their efforts to harness the continent’s vast potential. “We must invest in our people, our resources, and our ideas. The future of Africa depends on our ability to work together and support one another,” he added.

The Millennium Excellence Foundation, known for its commitment to promoting excellence and innovation in Africa, has been instrumental in honouring individuals who have made substantial contributions to the continent’s development. 

ASKY, The Pan-African Airline, is a 100% privately owned airline created by regional banking institutions in Africa that includes The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), The West African Development Bank (BOAD), ECOBANK Group (ETI) and Togolese State in partnership with Ethiopian Airlines.
