Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have strongly criticized media personality Nana Aba Anamoah for questioning President John Dramani Mahama’s decisions regarding Obuobia Darko-Opoku’s appointment as reported by Ghana Web.
Anamoah recently sparked controversy on social media by suggesting that Mahama should have given Darko-Opoku a more prominent role, considering her dedication and efforts during the 2024 election campaign.
In a post on X, Anamoah expressed, “Obuobia Darko-Opoku practically wore out the soles of her shoes for her party ahead of the Dec. 7 elections.”
She further emphasized her loyalty and intellect, adding that Obuobia’s contributions were pivotal. “Obuobia didn’t just campaign.
She connected. From dawn meetings at Keta to late-night rallies at Techiman, she showed up,” Anamoah wrote, implying that she deserved a higher position than the current role of Deputy Managing Director at the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).
However, many NDC supporters were quick to respond, claiming that Anamoah’s remarks undermined President Mahama’s leadership.
Some insiders pointed out that the position of Deputy Managing Director at GACL was created specifically for Obuobia, as the company had never held such a role before.
They also stated that many others worked tirelessly during the election but did not receive appointments, and they trust the president’s judgment.
