National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Mr. Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah, is currently spearheading a key diplomatic mission to China, leading a delegation of senior party officials.
According to ModernGhana, This visit is part of the NDC’s ongoing effort to strengthen their international relations, with a particular focus on deepening ties with the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The delegation’s agenda includes fostering stronger collaboration between the two political entities, which share similar governance ideals.
Key areas of discussion will involve enhancing local government structures in Ghana, facilitating political exchanges, and expanding cooperation between the youth wings of the respective parties.
Additionally, there will be a concerted effort to explore new avenues for economic and investment partnerships.
The team accompanying Mr. Asiedu-Nketiah includes prominent figures within the NDC.
These include Comrade Vincent Kuagbenu, Director for Special Duties; Dr. Karl Mark Arhin, Deputy Director of International Relations; Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw, National Women’s Organiser; and Kwaku Asiedu-Nketiah, Vice Chairman of the Youth Committee.
The delegation is set to return to Ghana on May 17, 2025. During this period, Comrade Awudu Sofo Azorka, the NDC’s National Vice Chairman, will serve as Acting National Chairman, ensuring the continuity of the party’s activities while the delegation is abroad.
This visit is seen as a huge step in strengthening diplomatic and political ties between the NDC and the CPC, laying the groundwork for future collaboration on multiple fronts.
