The embattled Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, has reportedly met with the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, following a summons over viral videos of him (Sammy Gyamfi) handing out dollars to Patricia Oduro Koranteng, popularly known as Nana Agradaa — a former fetish priestess turned evangelist.

According to TV3’s presidential correspondent, Komla Klutse, Sammy Gyamfi, who is also the National Communication Officer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), reported to the office of the Chief of Staff in the morning and was in a meeting that lasted until 11:00 AM.

The journalist indicated that the government has taken the issue “very, very seriously.”

He said that a source with details of the meeting indicated that Sammy Gyamfi was very apologetic over the incident.

He added that the government will, in the coming days, take a decision on how the issue is going to be handled.

“In the meeting with the Chief of Staff, he (Sammy Gyamfi) was very remorseful and was in a pensive mood. These are the few details that we’ve been able to gather.

“But the Chief of Staff has listened to him, and we get the indication that anytime soon, the public will be apprised of the decision of His Excellency the President, who himself is out of the country attending a summit of the African Union on the debt situation being faced by countries in the sub-region,” Komla Klutse said.

Sammy Gyamfi has made headlines after gifting an amount of about $800 to fetish priestess-turned-pastor Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.

In a video shared on social media platform X, Gyamfi is seen standing beside his Range Rover, taking a photo with Nana Agradaa, who had her arm around him while they engaged in a brief conversation.

In the video at the centre of the controversy, Nana Agradaa is heard making a remark to Sammy Gyamfi, prompting him to open the back door of the vehicle. He then sits down and begins counting several US dollar bills before handing a portion of the money to her.

However, Agradaa, seemingly unsatisfied, reaches out and grabs all the notes from Gyamfi’s hands.

Sammy Gyamfi later rendered an apology over the incident, explaining that he was only helping out a needy person, as he has always done.
