The Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, has strongly denied claims that President John Dramani Mahama received three high-end vehicles prior to his swearing-in.
The denial follows a memo allegedly authored by former National Signals Bureau (NSB) boss, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, and addressed to the National Security Coordinator.
In the memo, Adu-Boahene claimed that GH¢5,135,000 was disbursed to the special aide of the President-elect for the purchase of luxury vehicles, including a Nissan Patrol Platinum, a 2024 Nissan Patrol Titanium, and a 2022 Land Cruiser GXR.
Speaking on Eyewitness News with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Friday, May 9, 2025, Dr. Tanko-Computer dismissed the allegations, accusing the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of fabricating the story to tarnish the image of President Mahama.
“I don’t know anything about this. How can that be possible? I know the calibre of the President we have, he won’t stoop that low to this,” he asserted.
