EU Ambassador set to leave Ghana

The European Union Ambassador to Ghana, Irchad Razaaly, has announced the end of his tenure,  marking this year’s Europe Day celebration as his final one in the role.

He made this revelation during his opening remarks at the 75th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration that laid out the foundation of what is now the European Union.

Ambassador Razaaly reflected on his time in Ghana with deep appreciation, commending the strong ties between the EU and Ghana and the support he has received throughout his service.

“I am grateful for the dedication and collaboration of our Ghanaian counterparts, the past and present administrations, ministries, civil society, the media and most importantly the people of Ghana.”

He further expressed optimism that his successor will enjoy the same level of support.

“I extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you. I am confident that you will support my successor, arriving in September, in strengthening EU- Ghana relations even further.”

Ambassador Razaaly intimated that the European Union is committed to multilateralism, regional peace stability and international rules-based trading.
