West Ham United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has received his first-ever senior call-up to the DR Congo national team ahead of their June 2025 international friendlies against Madagascar and Mali in France.

The 27-year-old, who made a single appearance for DR Congo’s U20 side back in 2015 before representing England at various youth levels, has now officially switched allegiance to the country of his heritage.

After several years of interest and multiple approaches from the Congolese FA, Wan-Bissaka has finally agreed to join the Leopards, marking a major boost for coach Sébastien Desabre as the team begins preparations for upcoming competitive fixtures.

He is part of a strong 25-man squad that includes Premier League forward Yoane Wissa, experienced striker Cédric Bakambu, and former England youth international Axel Tuanzebe.

Also notable is the inclusion of Afimico Pululu, who had previously been called up by Angola but never featured due to injury. The forward has now committed to DR Congo and will be available for the matches in France.

The Leopards will face Madagascar and Mali in friendlies scheduled for June 2025, as they continue to build momentum ahead of key qualifiers later this year.
