“They made it difficult for us”- Ghana coach Ofei spells out why Satellites beat C.A.R 0-1

Following Ghana’s narrow 1-0 victory over the Central African Republic in their final Group C match of the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2025.

Black Satellites Head Coach Desmond Sakyi Ofei expressed his satisfaction with his side’s performance and praised their mental strength in a tough contest.

Speaking after the match, Coach Ofei spoke about the difficult nature of the match: “It was a tricky match,” Ofei acknowledged. “The CAR boys fought really hard and made it difficult for us at times.

“We lost a number of balls in our own half, which gave them some confidence and momentum, but I’m proud of the resilience the boys showed.

The coach highlighted Ghana’s ability to maintain composure under pressure and avoid being drawn into a frantic style of play.“We didn’t rush the game,” he noted.

“That was very important. The boys controlled the game, worked the ball well, and stayed patient even when the goal didn’t come early. I’m happy for them they earned this win.

”Coach Ofei also paid glowing tribute to Ghanaian football fans, thanking them for their unwavering support, both in Egypt and back home.

He also commended the Central African Republic for their spirited performance. Ghana tops group C with 7 points and will be preparing for knockout stage.
