Presidential staffer for the Black Star Experience, Rex Omar
Presidential staffer for the Black Star Experience, Rex Omar, has praised singer Amaarae for representing Ghanaian music on one of the world’s most prestigious stages, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
In an interview on JoyPrime TV, Rex Omar described Amaarae’s performance as a patriotic act, emphasising that it exemplifies the responsibility every Ghanaian should embrace in promoting the country’s culture and identity on the global stage.
Rex Omar emphasised that Amaarae’s performance should serve as an inspiration for every Ghanaian to be proactive in representing the country on global platforms.
He noted that patriotism goes beyond politics and should be reflected in how individuals use their talents and opportunities to project a positive image of Ghana.
“Amaarae choosing to perform Ghanaian songs at Coachella shows that we shouldn’t always think about what the country can do for us. Ask yourself, what can you do to promote the country? You are the Black Star represented on the Ghana flag,” he said.
Amaarae, during her performance on April 13, 2025, performed not only her songs but also songs by her colleagues such as Eazzy, Joey B, La Meme Gang, and the Asakaa Boys, drawing attention to Ghana’s music industry.
