Ibrahim Mahama to fly Adventist SHS student abroad for eye surgery

Businessman and philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama is arranging urgent overseas treatment for Suzzy Pinamang, a Form 2 student at Adventist SHS, who was hit in the eye by a stray bullet fired by her colleague in school.

According to the Medical Director of the Dr Agarwal Eye Hospital, Dr Asiwome Senadza, initial tests on Suzzy’s condition were positive, but additional surgeries are required for full recovery.

Ibrahim Mahama’s aide, Rafik Mahama in an interview with Ghana Weekend on Monday, May 5, said preparations are underway to send Suzzy to either India or the United Kingdom for advanced treatment.

“The doctor advised that she should travel for further examinations. Although the first check showed positive results, he will provide a final report by the end of today or tomorrow,” Rafik explained.

He also thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for quickly helping with travel documentation.

“I’d like to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for helping us get all the paperwork done as quickly as possible,” Rafik added.
