Former Subin MP, Eugene Boakye Antwi
Former Member of Parliament for Subin, Eugene Boakye Antwi, has said he is unable to do much about the perception among a section of the public that he is arrogant.
The outspoken politician categorically denied being arrogant, adding that people unfortunately misconstrue his forthrightness as arrogance.
The former lawmaker made these remarks during an interview on Adom TV’s Bedwam show on Friday, May 2, 2025.
The show host posed the question: “Let me ask you this, and I know you’ve heard it before—some people claim you are arrogant and disrespectful.”
Eugene Boakye Antwi responded: “That is their own problem; I can’t help it. You’ve dealt with me—you know that I am not arrogant. Maybe the way I come across makes some people uncomfortable. What didn’t they say about Akufo-Addo? What didn’t they say about Victor Owusu? You know me a bit, you talk to me—am I someone who is arrogant? How would such an arrogant person stand for election and be voted into office by the good people of Subin?”
He added: “If people disagree with you, they will find faults. I’ve been coming to this station for over ten years—I still have your numbers on my phone. You can recognize an arrogant person by the way they conduct themselves. So if someone accuses me of being arrogant, I can’t help what people think.”
Meanwhile, Eugene Boakye Antwi has announced his intention to contest for the General Secretary position of the party when internal elections are held.
