‘There’s no time for mistakes, corruption and greed’

Presidential Staffer Shamima Muslim has urged government appointees to rise to the occasion and support President John Dramani Mahama in creating a lasting legacy for Ghana.

Speaking on Woezor TV and monitored by GhanaWeb on Friday, April 2, 2025, she emphasized that the government is on a mission to reset the country.

“I wish that all appointees will not disappoint the President. He has assured us that this is a legacy mandate, and he means business. There is no time for mistakes, certainly not unjustifiable ones. There is no room for greed. There is no space for corruption.

“So, all appointees must understand that we stand on the brink of a new era in our history. Many Ghanaians have said that this is, indeed, Ghana’s second independence. How we handle this mandate is largely up to us,” she stated.

Shamima Muslim added that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) should not be discouraged by the actions of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), who she said are still struggling to recover from their defeat in the 2024 general elections.

“We will not be distracted by the opposition, who are still reeling from the massive defeat. It is simply my hope that all appointees will not let the President down.”
