President John Dramani Mahama is set to officially launch the “Black Star Experience,” a transformative cultural tourism initiative designed to position Ghana as Africa’s leading destination for heritage, arts, and diasporan engagement.

The initiative seeks to build on the momentum generated by successful campaigns such as “Year of Return” (2019) and “Beyond the Return,” which attracted thousands from the African diaspora to reconnect with their roots and explore Ghana’s rich historical and cultural offerings.

The Black Star Experience is envisioned as a year-round celebration of Ghana’s diverse cultural heritage and creative industries. It will feature a dynamic calendar of events and festivals, including street carnivals, film weeks, fashion showcases, food fairs, theatrical performances, and concert party competitions, offering immersive experiences for both locals and international visitors.

By integrating tourism with Ghana’s creative economy, the initiative aims to stimulate economic growth, generate employment for young people, and strengthen Ghana’s identity as a global cultural hub.
