Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah
The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has urged government appointees to be innovative and practical in their roles.
Speaking at the launch of the chip-embedded passport on Monday, April 28, 2025, he stressed the importance of these qualities in driving progress in governance.
“The last thing I want to talk about to my colleagues who have been privileged to serve in various institutions is that you should always let common sense prevail. Be practical, be innovative. That is what brings progress to governance,” he noted.
His comments come on the back of President John Dramani Mahama’s recent address to ministerial appointees, where he emphasised that performance, not presence, will be the standard by which they are judged.
Speaking at the opening of a four-day Executive Leadership Program for Ministerial Appointees on Thursday, April 24, 2025, he reminded participants that their responsibilities are rooted in public trust.
“You were not appointed to occupy space. You were appointed to solve problems; the Ghanaian people expect us to deliver. And we must not with excuses, but with results'” he added.
