Dr. Omane Boamah, the Defence Minister, has criticized former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his role in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) economic struggles, which he believes were a contributing factor to the party’s disappointing performance in the 2024 elections as per reports from MyNewsGH.
Dr. Boamah’s remarks come as Bawumia continues to shift blame for the NPP’s electoral defeat onto others.
In a Facebook post, Dr. Omane Boamah stated, “Elections 2024: Bawumia is blaming everything & everybody EXCEPT HIMSELF.” He emphasized that Bawumia’s involvement in the economic turmoil the country has faced cannot be ignored.
According to Dr. Boamah, the former Vice President played a critical role in the challenges the NPP confronted, and it is crucial that he acknowledges his part in the party’s failures.
Bawumia, who is the 2024 flagbearer for the NPP, has called on party members to avoid making negative comments about the party, warning that such remarks could be weaponized by opposition forces.
He has urged restraint and unity within the party to avoid further damage.
However, Dr. Boamah remains steadfast in his view that Bawumia must take responsibility for the economic mess, rather than deflecting blame.
