“If the Demons Aren’t Removed, NPP Will Continue to Suffer” – Prof. Frimpong-Boateng

Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, former Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rid itself of what he describes as “bad elements” that have led to its recent defeat in the 2024 elections as reported by Myjoyonline.

According to Professor Frimpong-Boateng, a change in leadership is crucial for restoring dignity and trust both within the party and among the general public.

Speaking on Nhyira FM in Kumasi, the respected heart surgeon emphasized that the party’s executives must step down for their role in the party’s loss.

He specifically warned that unless the “demons” within the NPP are removed, the party will continue to suffer.

He further expressed disappointment with the leadership of former President Akufo-Addo, accusing him of being “unreceptive and close-minded.”

Professor Frimpong-Boateng revealed that despite offering several pieces of advice that could have improved the party’s fortunes, his suggestions were ignored, which contributed to the poor governance he criticized.

He stated that there were many capable individuals within the party who were sidelined under Akufo-Addo’s leadership, a situation he believes contributed to the NPP’s downfall.

The professor also spoke on the broader issue of governance, advocating for a focus on building human capacity to enhance productivity and exports, rather than solely relying on domestic revenue generation.

He emphasized that good governance is rooted in common sense, free of corruption, and grounded in building a solid human resource base.
