The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has paid a working visit to Nutrifoods Ghana, a market leader in the country’s food and culinary industry and manufacturer of popular household brands, Tasty Tom, Perk Biscuit, NutriSnax, and King Cracker.
The Friday, April 4 visit formed part of the Ministry’s policy of promoting partnerships with local manufacturers and provided Nutrifoods an avenue to exhibit the company’s achievements and dedication to innovation in the Ghanaian food manufacturing sector.
The Minister interacted extensively with the management of Nutrifoods and underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening the manufacturing industry in Ghana.
Key among the exchanges was the need for the leadership of the company to consolidate on local manufacturing to promote economic development by complementing the government’s broader industrialisation drive in actualiSing the 24-hour economy.
Ofosu-Adjare and her entourage toured the Tasty Tom culinary factory for a first-hand experience of the advanced production processes and technology employed in the production of healthy and safe products, which have symbolised Nutrifoods’ commitment to quality and efficiency.
During her visit, Minister Ofosu-Adjare inaugurated a new Stand Up Pouch (SUP) production line, marking a significant milestone in Nutrifoods’ commitment to innovation and efficiency. The state-of-the-art machine offers both 200g and 400g options.
This enhancement is expected to further boost Nutrifoods’ capacity to meet consumer demand while contributing to the country’s industrial growth.
The delegation also visited the snacks factory, where it observed and learnt about Nutrifoods’ extensive production line and how it impacts the market in Ghana. This segment of the tour exemplified the company’s role in meeting the growing demand for quality snacking in Ghana.
After the tour, Ofosu-Adjare commended Nutrifoods’ valuable contribution to the Ghanaian economy and reaffirmed the government’s determination to develop the food sector.
She extolled the management and staff for their innovation and the company’s strict adherence to quality control and safety protocols.
