President John Dramani Mahama has, with immediate effect, suspended the granting of post-retirement contract appointments to former public sector employees and will no longer entertain such requests.
A brief statement dated April 2, 2025, and signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, made the announcement.
The statement read: “The granting of post-retirement contract appointments to retired public service staff has been suspended with immediate effect. As a result, all requests for such appointments will not be considered. Kindly take note of this directive and ensure strict compliance.”
