I really pity Ntim Fordjour because he doesn’t even know who he is speaking for — Kwesi Pratt

According to reports from GhanaWeb, Kwesi Pratt Jr, the Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, has called for clarification regarding the conflicting statements made by Rev. John Ntim Fordjour concerning his claims of potential money laundering and cocaine trafficking at Kotoka International Airport.

In a discussion on Pan African TV on April 6, 2025, Pratt expressed confusion over the varying accounts given by Ntim Fordjour about who he represents in the matter, particularly in relation to the suspicious aircraft that landed in Ghana in March.

Pratt highlighted inconsistencies in the MP’s claims, noting that at one point, Ntim Fordjour said he was speaking on behalf of the Minority in Parliament, but later stated that he was representing a parliamentary committee.

He stated: “I have been listening to Ntim Fordjour and I really pity him, because at his press conference, according to his own claim, he was speaking on behalf of the Minority in Parliament. Then sometime later, the same person is not speaking for the Minority, but he is speaking for a committee of Parliament. So, he doesn’t even know who he is speaking for?”

Pratt also voiced concerns about the lack of clarity in Ntim Fordjour’s statements, which he believes raises significant questions.

He further emphasized that the MP’s claim to represent a committee was questionable since James Agalga, the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Interior, stated that Ntim Fordjour did not speak on behalf of the committee.

Additionally, Pratt noted the inconsistencies in Ntim Fordjour’s statements regarding the situation.

Initially, the MP claimed he had received intelligence about potential drug and money laundering activities that needed further investigation.

However, in subsequent statements, he suggested that Ghana had become a transit hub for drug trafficking and money laundering.

Pratt criticized these conflicting reports, asking, “How do you reconcile these two positions?”

He expressed doubts about the validity of the MP’s claims, particularly regarding the two aircrafts—AirMed Flight N823AM and Cavok Air Antonov An-12B—allegedly carrying drugs and cash into the country.

In response to these claims, former President John Dramani Mahama has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
