Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey takes over as new CBG MD

Consolidated Bank Ghana LTD (CBG) has announced the appointment of Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey as its new Managing Director, marking a significant leadership transition at one of Ghana’s prominent financial institutions.

Dr. Kwetey officially assumes the role today, succeeding Daniel Wilson Addo, who has led the bank since its establishment on August 1, 2018. The Board of CBG expressed deep appreciation for Addo’s leadership, crediting him with laying a strong foundation for the bank and guiding it through a formative and often turbulent period.

“Mr. Addo has been instrumental in establishing a strong foundation for the Bank, navigating challenging waters, and ensuring growth and stability,” said Board Chairman Yaw Asamoah.

“His tenure has had a lasting impact, and the Board extends its deepest gratitude for his invaluable contributions. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Dr. Kwetey brings with her three decades of experience in the financial sector, with a portfolio that spans corporate relationship management, treasury, credit administration, branch banking, marketing, and operational risk management.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Ghana, an MBA in International Banking and Finance from Birmingham Business School, and a Doctorate in Business Administration and Management from the Nobel International Business School (NiBS).

As she takes the reins at CBG, Dr. Kwetey is expected to drive transformative growth and innovation, aligning with the bank’s strategic focus on SME lending, digital banking, and corporate partnerships.

With her appointment, CBG reaffirms its commitment to delivering customer-focused financial solutions and advancing its role in Ghana’s economic development.
