Paul Adom-Otchere, a well-known media personality and former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, has publicly questioned the integrity of Gomoa Central MP, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus as reported by Ghana Web.
The host of Good Evening Ghana accused A Plus of losing his activist voice after allegedly benefiting from funds intended for parliamentary projects.
Once vocal against corruption and misgovernance, A Plus now appears “muted,” according to Adom-Otchere, allegedly due to financial gains from the very political system he once criticised.
Adom-Otchere alleged that A Plus had received GH¢200,000, with an additional GH¢100,000, and another GH¢100,000 from parliamentary allocations.
He questioned whether these funds were influencing A Plus’ current silence. “Are you the same A Plus who saw so much corruption in the NDC and even played a song for the NPP to win power?” he asked during the show.
The media host expressed disappointment over what he sees as a transformation of a once-outspoken political critic into a beneficiary of political privileges, adding that Ghanaians expected more from him as a public servant.
However, A Plus has firmly denied the claims, stating he has not personally received any such money.
He clarified that the funds referenced are part of a broader government initiative aimed at constituency development.
He stressed that the funds, when disbursed, would not go directly into his account but would be managed by the District Assembly for specific community projects.
