Rev John Ntim Fordjour, a Member of Parliament and a key member of the Defence and Interior Committee, walked out of the Joy News Newsfile show after receiving heavy criticism from viewers during a live discussion on the recent cocaine allegations at Kotoka International Airport.
The Newsfile program on Saturday, 6th April, 2025, hosted by Samson Lardy Anyenini, featured a panel that included Rev Ntim Fordjour, NDC National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi, and other experts. They were discussing Rev Fordjour’s earlier claims that two suspicious flights had landed at the Kotoka International Airport and could be linked to drug trafficking and money laundering.
During the show, Rev Fordjour stood by his statements and called for deeper investigations. He said his comments were meant to protect Ghana’s international image and ensure that the country does not become a safe haven for drug traffickers. However, Sammy Gyamfi and others on the panel challenged him, demanding solid evidence to back his claims.
The situation got more tense when it was time for the host to read out messages from viewers. Almost all the messages criticized Rev Ntim Fordjour for making what many believed were unproven and damaging statements. Viewers accused him of making Ghana look bad without presenting facts. Some even suggested that he was playing politics with a sensitive national security issue.
Looking visibly upset by the negative feedback, Rev Ntim Fordjour responded briefly but angrily. He said he would not sit in a studio where public opinion was being used to silence his truth. Moments later, he took off his microphone and walked out of the live TV studio.
