Educate Africa Institute (EAI) extends its profound appreciation to John Dramani Mahama for listening to the concerns of Ghanaians and committing to refund E-Levy deductions to customers. This decision reflects a deep sense of responsiveness to the economic burdens faced by citizens and a commitment to fairness in taxation.

During an interaction with Despite Media’s Peace FM, William Boadi, Executive Director of EAI, emphasized the institute’s longstanding advocacy against the E-Levy, highlighting its negative impact on individuals and businesses. He reiterated that EAI has consistently called for relief measures to ease the financial strain on Ghanaians.

“For months, EAI has been at the forefront of advocating for policies that promote economic relief for the ordinary Ghanaian. The E-Levy has placed an additional financial burden on people, and by heeding the call to refund these deductions, President Mahama has demonstrated strong leadership and a commitment to the well-being of citizens,” he stated.

As a think tank dedicated to educational and economic development, EAI believes that sustainable and citizen-centered policies are crucial for national progress. The institute urges further stakeholder engagements to ensure that future taxation policies are fair and beneficial to all Ghanaians.

EAI remains committed to advocating for policies that prioritize the welfare of the people and will continue to engage policymakers to drive meaningful change.
