“After I Was Suspended On The 6th, A Week After He Said I Should Be Killed In Kogi

In a recent video on Channels Television, Senator Natasha Akpoti has made a startling revelation concerning a plot to assassinate her, which she claims was discussed shortly after her suspension from the Nigerian Senate. According to her, the plan was allegedly finalized during a meeting held a few days after her suspension on March 6.

Akpoti disclosed that the meeting took place around March 14, during which discussions were held not just about her political future, but specifically about eliminating her. She claims the plan was to carry out the act not in Abuja, but in her home state of Kogi, a decision she believes was intended to disguise the motive as local violence rather than a political hit.

The senator cited this development as the primary reason she postponed her return home following her suspension. She explained that she needed time to assess the situation and put protective measures in place, given the severity of the alleged plot.

Her claims add another layer of concern to the already tense atmosphere surrounding her suspension, which she has previously described as unjust and politically motivated. While no formal response has yet been issued by the Senate leadership or security agencies, Akpoti’s allegations have intensified calls for a thorough investigation into the circumstances around her suspension and her safety as a public official.

According to her, “Mind you, I said that there was a conversation. So that happened. I was suspended on the sixth day of March, right? And shortly—a week after, which was the 14th, a week and a few days after—when he met with him, he then emphasized that I should be killed, but I should be killed in Kogi.  And that was one of the reasons why I did not go home on time. I delayed going home.”
