Dr. Solomon Kwarteng Forkuo, a lecturer at Kumasi Technical University, has accused President John Mahama of hypocrisy, pointing out inconsistencies between Mahama’s recent appointments and his past criticisms of former President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Speaking on Wontumi TV, Dr. Forkuo recalled that Mahama had previously denounced Akufo-Addo for appointing a relative to a senior position at Jubilee House. However, he noted that Mahama has now done something similar by assigning a high-ranking role to his own brother.
He also alleged that Mahama is making undisclosed appointments, suggesting that internal pressures within the NDC are forcing him to create more government positions for party members.
Furthermore, Dr. Forkuo questioned the composition of Mahama’s cabinet, noting that 10 out of 19 ministers are from just two regions—Northern and Volta—while only two women have been included.
He criticized Mahama’s inconsistency in governance, stating, “If something was wrong before, it shouldn’t suddenly be justified now. Leadership requires consistency.”
His remarks have sparked discussions on Mahama’s leadership approach and the fairness of his appointment strategies.
