Former Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Opoku Onyina has penned down a heartfelt tribute to his friend and leader of the Church, Dr. Nana Michael Agyekum Addo, affectionately known as KAMA.
Below is the tribute Apostle Opoku Onyina wrote in his honour.
Elder Dr Nana Michael Agyekum Addo was more than a colleague; he was a true friend, trusted brother, and visionary leader whose profound impact on my life and the Church of Pentecost remains deeply cherished and forever imprinted on our hearts.
Apostle Dr. M. K. Ntumy, former Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, enlightened me on Dr. Addo’s pioneering role as the very first sponsor of Pentecost Hour on Ghana Television (GTV).
Initially serving as an active and passionate member of the University Council, he rose to become the esteemed Chairman of the Council, guiding the institution through periods of significant growth and development with wisdom and integrity.
His selflessness and humility were extraordinary—when I was elected Chairman of the Church, Elder Addo willingly travelled with me across the country at his own expense, demonstrating an exceptional spirit of sacrifice and genuine companionship. His supportive presence made numerous demanding journeys not only bearable but deeply enriching.
An accomplished entrepreneur and insightful scholar, Dr. Addo regularly captivated audiences with inspiring lectures on practical entrepreneurship, always eager to equip others with the tools for personal and professional growth. What stood out profoundly about Elder Addoh was his practicality, boldness, and genuine friendliness.
Elder Addo’s heart was filled with forgiveness, profound sympathy, and unmatched generosity, making everyone around him feel valued, understood, and uplifted.
Indeed, in losing Elder Dr Nana Michael Agyekum Addo, we have lost not only a great leader but a genuinely compassionate soul and an irreplaceable friend. The legacy he leaves behind is immense and enduring, inspiring future generations to embrace humility, generosity, and heartfelt dedication to God’s work.
