“You Benefited from Osei’s Removal, Now Face the Same Constitution” – A Plus Fires at Jean Mensa

Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has taken a strong stance against the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, urging her to step down from her position as reported by Modern Ghana.

In a social media post on Friday, March 28, A Plus argued that Jean Mensa should prioritize her integrity over holding onto power.

He referenced the dismissal of former EC Chairperson Charlotte Osei, alleging that Jean Mensa had a hand in the process and is now seeking constitutional protection for herself.

He pointed out the irony of the situation, stating that the same constitutional provisions that led to Charlotte Osei’s removal could come into play against Jean Mensa.

“Madam, you are not a special human being,” he remarked, implying that fairness must be applied across the board.

A Plus also hinted that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and their leader, President John Dramani Mahama, would ensure that her tenure is thoroughly scrutinized.

He emphasized that if Jean Mensa had any sense of responsibility, she would have stepped down voluntarily.

His comments come amid heightened political tension, as Mahama has recently submitted petitions to the Council of State seeking the removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkonoo.

This move has sparked legal resistance, with New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP Vincent Ekow Assifuah taking the matter to the Supreme Court in an attempt to halt the process.
