The Office of the President has directed the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to investigate the official travels of former President, Nana Akufo-Addo during his time in office.
The directive comes amid increasing public debate on governance transparency and the prudent use of state resources.
The probe has been described as “a new low,” a source told Accra-based Asaase Radio, hinting at possible political motives behind the directive.
However, officials insist it aligns with efforts to scrutinize public spending and uphold financial accountability.
It remains unclear whether the investigation will cover all of Akufo-Addo’s official travels during his tenure or focus on specific trips.
