Parliament approves Revenue Administration Amendment Bill to cut refund allocation

Parliament has approved the Revenue Administration Amendment Bill 2025 to reduce the percentage of total revenue that is set aside by the Minister for Finance in the Ghana Revenue Authority General Refund Account.

The bill provides for the Finance Minister to set aside an amount of not more than 6% of the total revenue collected under the Act and any other enactment administered by the Commissioner General in an account designated as the Ghana Revenue Authority General Refund Account.

The reduction is expected to save an estimated amount of Ghc3.8 billion.
