Ah, Why the Jealousy? Let the Man Enjoy – Twene Jonas Blasts Critics of Richard Nii Quaye’s Wealth

Ghanaian social media personality Twene Jonas has spoken out in defense of businessman Richard Nii Quaye, criticizing Ghanaians who questioned the source of his wealth following his extravagant 40th birthday celebration.

In a video, Jonas called the backlash unnecessary, urging critics to allow the millionaire to enjoy his success.

He emphasized that instead of hating, Ghanaians should celebrate individuals like Quaye, who have achieved financial success and contribute to the economy.Twene Jonas, Richard Nii Quaye, social media, rich men in Ghana, online, Bills Credit, media

Quaye’s birthday party, held at Black Star Square, was a star-studded affair featuring high-profile figures from business, entertainment, and politics.

The celebration included performances from Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and KiDi, while Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz also made an appearance.

Prominent personalities in attendance included business moguls Ibrahim Mahama, Osei Kwame Despite, and Ofori Sarpong. The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, also graced the occasion.

Additionally, Nigerian celebrities Rita Dominic, Richard Mofe-Damijo, and Toke Makinwa were present.

This grand celebration followed reports that Quaye had recently acquired a private jet and a Bugatti Chiron, further fueling speculation about his wealth.

After the event, reports emerged that the Financial Intelligence Centre had allegedly placed a hold on accounts linked to Quaye’s companies—Bills Micro-Credit, Quick Credit, and Investment Micro-Credit.

Additionally, the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) was reportedly conducting a personal income tax assessment on him. However, details regarding the exact amount were not disclosed.

Citi Business News also reported that one of Quaye’s vehicles had previously been flagged over import duties, though the issue had been resolved.

In his video, Twene Jonas dismissed allegations of financial impropriety, asserting that Quaye’s success should be admired rather than questioned. He argued that many Ghanaians fail to celebrate wealth unless it is their own.

His comments sparked mixed reactions online.

Some supported his stance, saying Ghanaians should uplift wealthy individuals, while others believed public figures should be accountable for their financial dealings.

Reggae legend Gramps Morgan also expressed disappointment over the scrutiny Quaye faced, stating that successful businessmen should be allowed to thrive without constant suspicion.
