Veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt Jr. has raised concerns about the handling of the Ahmed Suale murder case, particularly the alleged involvement of a high-profile politician whose identity remains undisclosed as reported by Ghana Web.
Speaking on Pan African TV on March 22, 2025, Pratt criticized both the investigating authorities and the judiciary for shielding this individual. He questioned why the politician’s name had not been made public despite being linked to the case.
“This high-profile politician is being protected. The name is not even being made available to the public. His image is being protected,” he stated.
Pratt also condemned the court’s decision to grant bail to a key suspect, arguing that the suspect had previously fled the country and returned under suspicious circumstances.
Reports indicate that he disguised himself before escaping and was later arrested at a hair salon.
He expressed disbelief at the court’s ruling, emphasizing that the suspect’s past actions suggested he could evade justice again.
“If there’s evidence that somebody has been arrested for such a high-profile crime and he actually disguised himself and ran out of the country… there is a high probability of that person jumping bail,” he pointed out.
The case of Ahmed Suale, an investigative journalist who was assassinated in 2019, continues to raise serious concerns about justice and transparency.
Pratt’s remarks have reignited public debate, with many calling for greater accountability in the investigation.
